Insigma Honored as “Leading Company of Sourcing” at Gartner China Outsourcing Summit

HANGZHOU (Nov. 20, 2008) – Insigma was honored as the “Leading Company of China Sourcing,” at the Gartner China Outsourcing Summit, held Nov. 18 – 20 in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology and Sichuan Provincial Government, this event was the first international service outsourcing summit in China with the joint collaboration of the China Council for International Investment Promotion (CCIIP) and Gartner Inc, a leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry. 

With the theme of “China Services for the World,” this summit aimed to promote the overall image of China outsourcing services and to push the development of outsourcing industries in China. At the event, Insigma gave a presentation on its successful case studies. 

The Gartner China Outsourcing Summit plays an important role in providing an open discussion and communication platform for international service outsourcing venders and buyers. It will greatly help China brand itself as a top service outsourcing provider and transform itself into the next largest shore for offshore sourcing solutions. 

Guests from a wide range of industries and countries attended the summit, including senior executives of international service buyers, Gartner experts and senior analysts, international outsourcing association leaders, and leading Chinese outsourcing providers.

Ansaldo STS – US&S Pens $30M China CBTC Contracts

PITTSBURGH (Dec 18, 2008) – Ansaldo STS – Union Switch & Signal (US&S), a supplier of railway signaling equipment, systems and services, through its subsidiary, Union Switch & Signal International (USSI), signed subcontracts for two new Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) projects as part of its strategic Alliance Agreement with Zhejiang Zheda Insigma Group Company Ltd. (“Insigma”), based in Hangzhou, China. The contracts have a combined value of approximately US$30 million for Ansaldo STS – US&S. 

Insigma has long been known for its leadership in IT technology. Within this contract, they will be responsible for the major portion of the CBTC hardware acquisition and installation, as well as the DCS (Data Communication System) between the wayside and carborne equipment. 

“The combined expertise of Insigma and Ansaldo STS – USSI will prove to be a valuable alliance as we provide much needed transportation improvements in China,” said Mr. Zhao Jian, chairman of Insigma Group Co., Ltd. “Our design teams will work in tandem to provide our customers with the successful delivery of a safe, reliable transit system.” 

Under their alliance, the two companies provide CBTC signaling systems to mass transit agencies throughout China. Ansaldo STS – USSI serves as the technology supplier and through a license agreement, enables Insigma, the prime contractor, to perform a great portion of the work associated with the delivery of automatic train control systems to customers in China. 

The new projects are for the design and implementation of CBTC signaling systems for Shenyang Metro Company’s Line 2 and Chengdu Metro Company’s Line 1. Together these lines add a total of 40 km (24.85 miles) in new mass transit service. USSI and Insigma have been working together on Shenyang Line 1, a 29km (18 mile) line since 2006.

By 2013, China plans to invest nearly US$50 billion to construct about 1,000 km (about 621 miles) of metro lines in the main Chinese towns. World Railway Market Weekly estimates that before 2020, 5,000 km (3,106 miles) of new metro lines may be built in China.

Insigma Speaks on Socially Responsible Outsourcing at IAOP World Summit in Carlsbad CA

NEW YORK (Feb. 18, 2009) – Insigma Technology affiliate, Insigma Hengtian, attended the IAOP World Summit from February 16 – 18 in Carlsbad, CA. Hengtian chairman Bob Williams was invited by the IAOP to give a speech about socially responsible outsourcing and how it is vital for companies to exercise responsibility in their outsourcing programs.

Bob outlined a case study with State Street’s involvement with Insigma and Zhejiang University, focusing on the strong and constantly evolving “co-sourcing” relationship. He discussed how the strong, collaborative and unique outsourcing models used by Hengtian and State Street can benefit not only both companies involved but the individual employees and nearby communities.

The conference, widely recognized as one of the most influential conferences in outsourcing, gathered industry leaders to discuss the current business climate, most notably the effects of the global financial crisis.

Cisco China Chairman and CEO Jim Sherriff Visits Insigma

HANGZHOU (Feb. 18, 2009) On Feb 17, Jim Sherriff, Chairman and CEO of Cisco China, met with Insigma Group executives to explore further business collaborations in a wide range of areas and to deepen cooperative relations in new industries. During the meeting, Sherriff expressed appreciation of Insigma’s business model and its achievements, and spoke highly of the business proposals from Insigma. A consensus on broadening the strategic partnership between Insigma and Cisco was established during the meeting. 

Insigma Technology CEO Lie Shi, Vice President Yi Jiang, Xiaohu Yang and Grace Gu and Insigma Global Service Vice President Liang Cai joined the meeting. 

As a result of the international the economic crisis, Cisco’s China strategy has become the most important part of Cisco’s global strategy. Cisco has set itself the goal of being the transformation partner of China and growing its China business to 10 percent of its overall company revenues – a vision called China 3.0. In a recent public statement, Sherriff stated that Cisco China would keep its promise of investing US$16 billion into China. Driven by Cisco’s differentiated strategy and its vision of China 3.0, Cisco China aims to make China one of the company’s top three world markets in the next five years.
